SPOILERS AHEAD: If you’ve binged Volume 1 of the latest season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, then you’ll know this striking Second Empire manor plays a prominent role throughout the story. It is the former home of character Victor Creel and current lair of the show’s villain, Vecna. The home is shown in various stages of decay throughout the series, so we were unsure if it was indeed a real home. We scoured the internet and did uncover that the home is in fact real and sold for just $350,000 in 2019! Prior to that, it was a popular Bed & Breakfast called the Claremont House B&B. Touted as one of Rome, Georgia’s most prominent historic homes, the 7,122 square foot residence was built in 1882 for Colonel Hamilton Yancey. The property hit the market in March 2019 for $499,900 and sold July of that year for $350,000. Mimi Richards of Toles, Temple & Wright, Inc. held the listing.
