Queen Anne’s Colourful 1906 Coleman House in Seattle, WA

Seattle, Washington’s historic Queen Anne neighbourhood is home to some of the areas most spectacular homes. The neighbourhood includes 29 official Seattle landmarks, including 12 historic houses and a group of residences on 14th Avenue West, built between 1890 and 1910, including one of the few remaining Queen Anne style houses on the hill. Perhaps one of the most interesting private homes in Queen Anne is the landmark Coleman House near Crockett Street and Nob Hill Avenue. The colourful home is owned by psychiatrist Brian Coleman, who according to Spotted by Locals, has spent more than two decades transforming the nondescript 1906 Craftsman cottage into the spectacular Victorian you see today. “When I bought the house it was all covered in white vinyl siding with black trim. None of this was here,” Coleman revealed in an undated news report on YouTube. Coleman added a turret to the corner, painted the entire house in a fall palette and created a spectacular garden to compliment the new design. The interiors have been somewhat of a mystery for locals as the house is not generally open to the public. Coleman did invite a local news crew in which can be watched below!
